For many years, Thielker has been focused on a familiar perspective, the landscape seen from inside of the car. He has taken this theme to ambitious lengths, with series documenting roadways globally and following the entire US Mexico border, but at heart, his work is a visceral exploration of the unnoticed moments inside of the car. His work focuses on the views through the car windshield, allowing water droplets and speed to create abstractions of the world outside. His newest works on debut embrace moments of stillness and the beauty that can be found in the ordinary.
