Eric Moore’s Cavern transforms a monochromatic palette into a highly dimensional study of pattern, depth, and light. Carved from urethane, the circular work is covered in hundreds of individually articulated geometric forms that transition from bright silver and soft gray to deep charcoal and black. The carved surface catches and reflects light differently throughout the day, allowing the pattern and tonal gradient to shift depending on the viewing angle. Both sculptural and graphic, Cavern expands Moore’s exploration of repetition and gradation beyond the painted surface.
