Andrew Faris (b. 1978, Akron, OH) is an artist based in the Teton Mountains of Wyoming. Faris grew up surrounded by the arts, his father a writer and his mother a teacher and an artist. Influenced by his design background he aims for simplicity and impact through the bold use of color and composition, while embracing the spontaneity of water and paint on canvas. Hoping to elicit an emotional response while teasing the formal with flourishes and flairs of gesture and calling on the great power of abstraction to recollect and recall, questioning what it means to combine, be it colors, forms or concepts.
