Damien Hirst’s Cherry Blossom prints are a series of works derived from his larger Cherry Blossoms painting project, which he created between 2018 and 2020. These vibrant, densely layered images reinterpret a classic art historical motif—blossoming trees—through Hirst’s contemporary lens, blending elements of Impressionism, Pointillism, and Abstract Expressionism. Hirst explores the dualities of beauty and decay, celebration and impermanence—common themes in his broader body of work. The cherry blossom, a symbol of fleeting beauty in Japanese culture, fits well into these existential meditations.
