Everywhere II by Christina Gschwantner is composed through clustered groupings of rapid, layered scribble-like marks, each section defined by a distinct color range. The composition moves across the canvas in horizontal bands, beginning with softer pinks and neutrals, shifting into high-chroma reds and oranges, and expanding into cooler blues, violets, and greens. Each cluster is built through repeated, overlapping lines that vary in pressure and opacity, creating dense fields of color that contrast with the open white ground.
Unlike the more evenly distributed grid works, Everywhere II introduces a more dynamic sense of accumulation, with each grouping functioning as a concentrated study of color interaction and gesture. The layered marks create depth within each cluster, revealing underlying tones and directional movement. This approach highlights Gschwantner’s focus on repetition and variation, offering collectors a work that balances structured color organization with a more fluid, energetic handling of paint.
