Mermaid Money brings together a glass perfume bottle, a vivid red lipstick, and scattered shells set against a cool blue surface and a dark, saturated backdrop. The composition feels poised but not overly arranged, holding onto a moment that feels just used and slightly unsettled.

Erika Lee Sears focuses on contrast through surface and material. The reflective clarity of the glass bottle catches and bends light, while the lipstick holds a dense, waxy presence. Around them, the shells introduce a softer, more irregular texture that breaks up the scene and keeps it from feeling too controlled.

The palette stays tight, built from deep blues, muted neutrals, and a sharp red that draws the eye. Light shifts across each element differently, giving the composition a quiet tension where polish and imperfection sit side by side.
