Dragon Vibe by Christina Gschwantner is defined by a diagonal sweep of densely layered, gestural marks that move from left to right across the canvas. The composition begins with lighter, more open strokes in soft peach and pale pink, quickly intensifying into a concentrated field of deep reds and burgundy tones before expanding into a dominant mass of dark greens and near-black marks. This progression creates a strong directional flow, with the density of overlapping lines increasing toward the right side of the composition.

Each mark is applied rapidly, with visible variation in pressure, opacity, and line weight, producing a layered surface where earlier gestures remain partially visible beneath subsequent applications. The contrast between the open white ground and the compressed central movement heightens the sense of momentum and accumulation. Dragon Vibe offers collectors a dynamic example of Gschwantner’s process-driven abstraction, where color transitions, directional energy, and the physical act of mark-making define the work.
